Officer Andrew Smith (RET)
Andrew is a former police officer from Janesville Wisconsin. Andrew started his law enforcement career when he entered the United States Military Police Corps in 1993. Andrew was stationed at Fort Clayton Panama for two years where he performed combat support and garrison duties. Andrew left Panama for Fort Campbell Kentucky. There he was a member of the special reaction team and a military police game warden. Andrew was honorably discharged in 1998. Andrew attended Madison Area Technical College where he earned an associate degree in police science. Andrew worked as a boat patrol officer for Town of Oakland PD before he was hired in 2001 by the Janesville Police Department. In 2004 Andrew was stabbed while trying to arrest a suspect. In 2006 Andrew resigned from Janesville PD due to personal issues some of which were the result of the stabbing. Andrew is patinate about sharing his life struggles to bring awareness to substance abuse and PTSD amongst first responders. Andrew still lives in Wisconsin with his wife and two boys. Andrew enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
